BREAKING NEWS: While Major League Baseball is scheduled to start spring training Feb. 28 and Opening Day is April 1, the Quad Cities River Bandits will return to play a 120-game schedule, with their season opener on the road Tuesday, May 4, 2021, against the South Bend Cubs. The Quad Cities River Bandits will move up a level of play and become a Kansas City Royals affiliate, whenever the team ends up playing again after covid-19 mitigations. Major League Baseball announced today that the Quad Cities River Bandits and eleven other Midwest League teams will be moving up one level of play, as the team and the league have been promoted from Single-A to Advanced-A baseball. The Quad Cities River Bandits 2020 baseball season may have been canceled, but that doesn’t mean the picture-perfect Modern Woodmen Park is sitting on the disabled list.
