Davenport’s Figge Art Museum Opens New Exhibit on American Artist Saturday

The Figge Art Museum (225 W. 2nd St., Davenport) is opening a new exhibit Saturday, Jan. 16, in the second-floor Lewis Gallery. Blakelock: By the Light of the Moon, will feature eight extraordinary pieces of American art — some of which have not been on display in more than two decades. Art Legacy League to Hold Open House in Davenport Nov. 20

The Art Legacy League (ALL) has found a new home on the Davenport riverfront and will hold a two-hour open house on Friday, Nov. 20. Founded in 2012, the nonprofit ALL is dedicated to the memory of Father Edward Catich and his contributions to the calligraphic arts, history of writing, and his long legacy of teaching. Father Catich (1906-1979) was an internationally renowned artist, calligrapher and visionary instructor who founded the St. Ambrose University Art Department. The ALL moved from J.B. Quad City Arts at The Airport

Quad City Arts is proud to present three gifted Midwestern artists: Ralph Scott of East Galesburg, Illinois; Andrea Van Wyk of Pella, Iowa; and Terry Rathje of Long Grove, Iowa. Figge’s Big Picture in the House Goes Virtual

The Figge’s Big Picture program returned this summer, in a different format. For the past 3 weeks, virtual free programming has been streaming live from the museum on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. via Zoom. The program will continue through Aug 5. David Van Allen & Ron Meyer Artwork on Display at Quad City Arts

Quad City Arts is officially open and excited to show off their latest exhibit. Assembled portraits by David Van Allen and jazz noir images from the Iowa City Jazz Festival by Ron Meyer are now on display at the Quad City Arts Rock Island Gallery (1715 2nd Avenue Rock Island), as well as online. Quad City Arts Debuts New Public Sculptures Around Quad-Cities

Six public sculptures in Bettendorf and four in Rock Island are in the process of being replaced with new ones. Each city has elected to keep one sculpture from last years’ selection for another year. Quad City Arts has facilitated the leasing and installation of public sculpture in the Quad Cities since 2002. The City of Rock Island has participated in the program, yearly, since 2007 and Bettendorf, since 2008. All of the sculptures are for sale and can be purchased by individuals, businesses or the city for permanent installation after June of the following year.
