Normally, the third weekend in September means you can find Skeleton Key Art and Antiques selling John VandeWalle’s sculptures at one of their favorite Quad Cities events, Riverssance. Unfortunately, Riverssance has been cancelled for the year, so they’ve decided to make their very own small event for the weekend, and they’re affectionately calling it Wallessance! Quad City Arts at The Airport

Quad City Arts is proud to present three gifted Midwestern artists: Ralph Scott of East Galesburg, Illinois; Andrea Van Wyk of Pella, Iowa; and Terry Rathje of Long Grove, Iowa. Community members can view artwork from these three amazing artists at Art at the Airport, located in the Quad City International Airport Gallery (2200 69th Avenue Moline) Monday – Friday through Aug 31. Figge’s Big Picture in the House Goes Virtual

The Figge’s Big Picture program returned this summer, in a different format. For the past 3 weeks, virtual free programming has been streaming live from the museum on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. via Zoom. The program will continue through Aug 5. This Wednesday July 29 will mark the fourth week of Big Picture in the House. In this lesson they will explore why are we so fascinated with places we cannot reach. David Van Allen & Ron Meyer Artwork on Display at Quad City Arts

Quad City Arts is officially open and excited to show off their latest exhibit. Assembled portraits by David Van Allen and jazz noir images from the Iowa City Jazz Festival by Ron Meyer are now on display at the Quad City Arts Rock Island Gallery (1715 2nd Avenue Rock Island), as well as online. All pieces are available for purchase. Gallery hours are Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The gallery is closed on Sundays. No admissions fees are required. Quad City Arts Debuts New Public Sculptures Around Quad-Cities

Six public sculptures in Bettendorf and four in Rock Island are in the process of being replaced with new ones. Each city has elected to keep one sculpture from last years’ selection for another year. Quad City Arts has facilitated the leasing and installation of public sculpture in the Quad Cities since 2002. The City of Rock Island has participated in the program, yearly, since 2007 and Bettendorf, since 2008. All of the sculptures are for sale and can be purchased by individuals, businesses or the city for permanent installation after June of the following year. Calling All Little Artists! It’s Contest Time!

Art Gallery Coming To NorthPark? Meeting At Bucktown For Artists

Artists and those who are interested in art can attend a meeting about creating an art gallery in Northpark Mall for local artists to display and sell their art at 1 pm on Saturday, Feb. 29, in suite 203, Bucktown Center for the Arts, 225 Second Street, Davenport, Iowa. The leaders of the meeting, Barb and Jim Toner have lived in the Quad Cities for more than 30 years. Barb has been a fused glass artist for about six years and has sold her pieces in Bucktown and The Artery.
