Quad City Arts Debuts New Public Sculptures Around Quad-Cities

Six public sculptures in Bettendorf and four in Rock Island are in the process of being replaced with new ones. Each city has elected to keep one sculpture from last years’ selection for another year. Quad City Arts has facilitated the leasing and installation of public sculpture in the Quad Cities since 2002. The City of Rock Island has participated in the program, yearly, since 2007 and Bettendorf, since 2008. All of the sculptures are for sale and can be purchased by individuals, businesses or the city for permanent installation after June of the following year. Art Gallery Coming To NorthPark? Meeting At Bucktown For Artists

Artists and those who are interested in art can attend a meeting about creating an art gallery in Northpark Mall for local artists to display and sell their art at 1 pm on Saturday, Feb. 29, in suite 203, Bucktown Center for the Arts, 225 Second Street, Davenport, Iowa. The leaders of the meeting, Barb and Jim Toner have lived in the Quad Cities for more than 30 years. Barb has been a fused glass artist for about six years and has sold her pieces in Bucktown and The Artery. Figge’s Clay for Kids Kicks Off Soon

Kids ages 5 and up are invited to come to the Figge studios for some creative clay time! Clay for Kids, offered every second Tuesday of them month, will begin this Tuesday Jan 14 from 6 – 8 p.m. and will continue at the Figge Art Museum (225 W 2nd Street Davenport) through May. Make a Landing at Quad City Airport for an Electrified Art Exhibit

Quad City Arts Art at the Airport presents “Electrified” now and through Sep 2. Artists from the Quad City region will transform the gallery at the Quad City International Airport (2200 69th Avenue Moline) with sculptures that incorporate neon and video, along with other lighting effects.
