The 6th annual Quad City Arts’ Chalk Art Fest will take place July 16-17, 2022 at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in downtown Rock Island, IL. The festival starts at 10 a.m. and goes till 7pm on Saturday, July 16 and 5pm on Sunday, July 17. This FREE, live outdoor arts festival brings together hundreds of artists that spend hours transforming the cement pavement at Schwiebert Park into a museum of chalk art, while competing for cash prizes. Wild Ones Quad Cities announces it has become one of the newest chapters in a rapidly growing national Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes, an organization that encourages people to incorporate native plants into their landscapes. The chapter will host prairie and garden tours, plant sales, seed swaps, and educational opportunities. Western Illinois University’s Inter-Hall Council will host its annual tree planting ceremony to honor students who have passed away during over the past academic year. A tree is planted and dedicated in honor of the students who have been lost. In addition to the students’ families, IHC is extending an invitation to students, faculty and staff to honor their loved ones.
