About Moline
Moline’s story is tied to the Mississippi and to the industry that grew beside it. John Deere’s move here shaped the city, and the John Deere Pavilion keeps that history close to downtown. The Butterworth Center and Deere-Wiman House offer another look at the people behind it, while the riverfront shows how Moline continues to make use of its setting.
Downtown is a good place to begin on foot. Restaurants and shops share the area with the Pavilion and Vibrant Arena at The MARK, and paths along the water lead toward quieter stretches of the city. Sylvan Island adds wooded trails nearby. In the Floreciente neighborhood, Mercado on Fifth brings food, vendors, and local culture into the picture.
