All Western Illinois University students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in Military Appreciation Week, Monday, Nov. 6-Saturday, Nov. 18. A variety of events have been planned to honor veterans and service members leading up to Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 10. This year’s schedule includes: • Monday, Nov. 6, 10:45-1 p.m. – Kinder Monday at Stipes Lobby. Davenport Celebrates Opening Of Veteran's Park

It was a beautiful morning to celebrate the opening of Veterans Memorial Park, and we are incredibly proud of our students and staff who lent a helping hand to this project. West High School Art teacher, David Schaeffer, painted the 40-foot mural honoring the brave men and women who serve. Andy Zinn, West’s Industrial Technology teacher, and his students designed and built the structure holding the painting in place. The District is extremely impressed by your achievements. Davenport Veteran's Memorial Park Dedication Taking Place This Morning

Davenport’s Veterans Memorial Park dedication ceremony is taking place today. The dedication ceremony will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The park is located along Davenport’s Mississippi River Trail adjacent to the Marquette Street boat ramp. Davenport West High School Art teacher, David Schaeffer, painted a 40-foot mural honoring America’s veterans that will be on display in the park. Davenport West High School Industrial Technology teacher, Andy Zinn, designed the structure that holds the painting and had his students build it.  Read More

Scarecrow Row is Geneseo’s favorite Halloween tradition and returns to the Geneseo City Park on Saturday October 28, 2023 from 10a-4p! As a part of Geneseo’s Scarecrow Row, children are invited to trick or treat at the Geneseo City Park among the Scarecrows from 10a-12p. Geneseo businesses will be at the park handing out candy to trick or treaters, while a Halloween photo booth will be set up on the bandshell stage.
