BREAKING NEWS: Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds just announced sweeping new rules to mitigate the spread of covid-19 in Iowa taking place at midnight which will impact all state bars and gathering places, eliminate all sporting events under high school age, and severely limit the number of people able to gather together. Downtown Davenport Partnership Presents New Master Plan

Despite the Covid crisis, the Downtown Davenport Partnership (DDP) — an affiliate of the Quad Cities Chamber – has been very busy for the past eight months. The result of all that work was presented Tuesday afternoon, as DDP executive director Kyle Carter unveiled a new strategic master plan to the Davenport City Council during a public work session. The 110-page plan (led by a New York-based consulting firm) will be added to upcoming city council agendas for further public input, and a vote to accept the final version is expected by December. Live@Five Returning to River Music Experience Courtyard in August

Live music is returning to the River Music Experience, at 2nd and Main streets, Davenport, next month for the first time since Covid-19 shut down events in mid-March. The outdoor Live@Five series will resume in the courtyard, totally free, for all ages, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. each Friday in August and September. Davenport’s Putnam Museum Reopens to Members; Public Welcome Starting July 15

The Putnam Museum and Science Center (1717 W. 12th St., Davenport) reopened to members on Wednesday, July 8 and will open to the public on Wednesday, July 15 – under new guidelines to help ensure the health, safety and enjoyment of staff and visitors. After being closed since mid-March, the museum will be open Wednesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Up to 50 guests will be permitted in the museum at any given time to allow for social distancing.
