Congratulations to the students and directors selected to the 2023 South East Iowa Band Association (SEIBA) Honor Band! The Festival is sponsored by the South East Iowa Band Association and is a one-day event, held at the University of Iowa School of Music. Iowa Public Innovations and Efficiencies Awards Given to Davenport School District

State Auditor Rob Sand will hand-deliver a pie to the leaders of the Davenport Community School District in recognition of their Public Innovations and Efficiencies (PIE) Award. Davenport CSD is the largest school to receive the 2022 PIE Award. Sand created the PIE program in 2019. It serves to encourage governmental entities to implement cost-cutting measures and spark innovative ideas to save public funds. In the last year, PIE participation increased by more than 55%. Davenport Community School District Welcomes New High School Girls Wrestling Coach

For the first time ever, the Davenport Community School District will have a sanctioned, girls’ wrestling team. Josh Park has been named the head coach and will oversee wrestlers from Davenport North, Central and West High Schools. “I’m every emotion you can think of,” Park said. “We’re making our mark.” Park is no stranger to the mat. The Davenport Community School District is hosting an inclusion Night Gala Wednesday, May 11, 2022. John Kliegl, CEO of Special Olympics Iowa, will be there to celebrate the partnership between Special Olympics and Davenport Schools and acknowledge all the wonderful things Davenport’s Unified Champion Schools have done this year.
