Davenport Veteran's Memorial Park Dedication Taking Place This Morning

Davenport’s Veterans Memorial Park dedication ceremony is taking place today.

The dedication ceremony will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The park is located along Davenport’s Mississippi River Trail adjacent to the Marquette Street boat ramp.

Davenport West High School Art teacher, David Schaeffer, painted a 40-foot mural honoring America’s veterans that will be on display in the park. Davenport West High School Industrial Technology teacher, Andy Zinn, designed the structure that holds the painting and had his students build it.
