One Human Family Brings Care-A-Van To Quad-Cities

The One Human Family is forming a Care-A-Van of Thanks and Unity to our diverse health care workers of the Quad-Cities. On Wednesday, April 15 a Care-A-Van decorated with messages of thanks from Buddhists, Jews, Christians, Muslims and Humanists will make its way to four nursing homes on the Iowa side of the River   On Wed., April 22 beginning at noon, a similar caravan will make its way to four nursing homes on the Illinois side of the river. Rock Island's Augustana College Adding Men's, Women's Water Polo Teams

Rock Island’s Augustana College is ready to make a splash, after announcing this week they’re going to be adding men’s and women’s water polo to its varsity sports lineup beginning with the 2021-22 school year. Director of athletics Mike Zapolski announced in a press release on the Augustana site that the two genders of water polo will give the Vikings 14 women’s sports and 14 men’s sports. Jason Tanamor has written about sexual identity, prison relations and political humor, so it makes perfect sense that his latest book is for children. Ballet Quad Cities may have had to postpone its shows and in-person classes and training, but that hasn’t stopped the dance, and the dancers, from bringing their kinetic art online. East Moline Silvis Soccer Club Players Selected For Illinois ODP Team

Three players from the East Moline Silvis Soccer Club U12 Spartans have made the final cut for the Illinois State Soccer Team in their age group, and seven players overall from EMSSC made the cut! Eli Nache and Jonas Cortez made the final cut for the state team for 2008, and Junior Garibay made the pool team! Other EMSSC players to make their respective teams include Deontae Nache and Austin VandeGeest, who made the 2006 team, Addi Schatteman, who made the girls 2007 team, and Logan Schaeffer, who made the 2007 team! In the face of a shortage of masks and a greater need than ever for people to have the face-coverings, a number of Quad-Citians have stepped up to help make homemade masks for everyday folks in the Quads. A lot of these masks have gone out to whomever has come forward to claim them, whether workers in essential industries from restaurant and grocery workers to delivery drivers, or just everyday citizens.
