East Moline's Deontae Nache Selected For Midwest Olympic Development Soccer Camp

East Moline’s Deontae Nache, a member of the East Moline Silvis Soccer Club U14 RENEGADES, was selected to the Midwest Region Olympic Development Program ID Camp. The regional camp brings top players from the Midwest to play for high level coaches and college coaches to display their skills in hopes of being selected to represent the Midwest Region. East Moline Silvis Soccer Club Players Selected For Illinois ODP Team

Three players from the East Moline Silvis Soccer Club U12 Spartans have made the final cut for the Illinois State Soccer Team in their age group, and seven players overall from EMSSC made the cut! Eli Nache and Jonas Cortez made the final cut for the state team for 2008, and Junior Garibay made the pool team! Other EMSSC players to make their respective teams include Deontae Nache and Austin VandeGeest, who made the 2006 team, Addi Schatteman, who made the girls 2007 team, and Logan Schaeffer, who made the 2007 team! EMSSC Spartans Ranked #9 In Illinois!

The latest Illinois Youth Soccer rankings just came out today, and the EMSSC Spartans U12 team has leapt into the top ten, at the number 9 ranking! The team is 16-3 and has only lost to teams ranked in the top three from Illinois and Missouri. Last weekend, they finished second at the Peoria Oktoberfest after a thrilling 4-3 loss to Peoria, which was ranked #1 last year and is in the top three this year, but the road to the championship game included wins against three teams ranked in the top 15 and two in the top 10. EMSSC Spartans Raise Almost $1,000!

Thanks to the generosity of managers Jerad Welter of HyVee Moline on 7th Street and John Deere Road, and Alex McGehee of Anchor Lumber in East Moline, the EMSSC Spartans 08 team, ranked #15 in Illinois, was able to raise almost $1,000 in a bake sale at both spots last weekend. The money raised will help pay for tournament costs and uniform costs for the team! The team is extremely grateful to the managers of both shops and to everyone who contributed for a great cause!  Read More
