On Wednesday, April 12, 2023, Congressman Eric Sorensen (D-Moline) will welcome NASA Astronaut Kate Rubins to the Quad Cities. They will host a forum at Black Hawk College open to students, faculty, and the public. In addition to the forum, Sorensen and Rubins will visit Hamilton Elementary School on Thursday, April 13, 2023, where they will participate in an assembly with elementary school students. LeClaire Library receives large donation from local artist

The Friends of the LeClaire Community Library have received a large donation of art prints from local artist Raphael Iaccarino and held a reception today to allow library patrons to meet and thank the artist.  Iaccarino is an internationally recognized artist whose paintings are exhibited in public and private collections worldwide. Eight of the donated prints, some quite large, are vivid watercolors which were inspired by the magnificence of the tropical rain forest and jungles.  Six prints are architectural landscapes or interior roomscapes. Auditions will be held April 11 and 13 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Augustana College’s Wilson Center (3750 7th Ave. Rock Island, IL 61201) and April 15 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the Genesius Guild’s stage in Lincoln Park, Rock Island.
