Rock Island Public Library Hosting Books For Kids Trivia Night

The Rock Island Public Library Foundation and the Lorene Evans Watts Fund for Children’s Materials will host the “Books for Kids” Trivia Night on Friday. November 1, from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Quad City Botanical Center, 2525 4th Avenue, Rock Island. Donation to play is $10 per person. Participants can increase their chances to win by purchasing mulligan and doubler round stickers or bidding to win answers for a round from the night’s celebrity genius. Born to a Chinese father and Jewish mother, and raised in the multicultural metropolis of Toronto, saxophonist Allison Au found music as a young child. Apprentices from Quad City Arts Metro Arts Youth Apprenticeship Program are in the final stages of painting four murals on the doors of Davenport’s Freight House. These new panels complement the five panels completed by 2015 Metro Arts apprentices. Lead artist Sarah Robb, one senior apprentice, and seven apprentices painted murals at the Freight House, 421 W. River Drive, Davenport, during the fall session for the 2019 Metro Arts Youth Apprenticeship Program. Apprentices worked on weekends and weeknights after school in September and October.
