And Today's Video You Deserve Is...

Yup, it’s Monday. Where can you go for some sunshine and fun? Well, here of course! We know Mondays can be rough, so, every Monday, we give you a music video. A fun, funny music video. Something that’ll make you smile, make you laugh, make you reminisce, and make you realize that back in the day, music video creators were probably either insane or heavily intoxicated. But were also incredibly entertaining. We call this feature, The Video You Deserve, and you can find it every Monday on your site for fun, free entertainment and features, QuadCities.com. And here’s today’s video…  Read More

Check Out Save Our Stages Fest, But Also Donate Closer To Home To Local Artists And Venues

This weekend, YouTube and the National Independent Venue Association are doing an awesome thing for local music venues nationwide, and I’m sure many of you have heard about the star-studded Save Our Stages Fest. It’s the kind of huge, publicity-grabbing event that gets a ton of attention with people in markets across the country. Which is a good thing, because it’s for a good cause, and it needs to get in front of a large group of people to make that positive impact. I do not begrudge that at all, and I wholeheartedly encourage people to check it out, and any other event of that... Read More

Dave Chappelle’s Surprise Special 8:46 Is Searing And Necessary

Dave Chappelle's Surprise Special 8:46 Is Searing And Necessary

There’s nothing seemingly structured. There’s nothing seemingly rehearsed. And that’s PART of what makes Chapelle’s surprise special on YouTube, aptly entitled 8:46 (after both the amount of time George Floyd was choked to death on film, and a surprising detail about Chappelle’s own life) so searing and necessary. Like the movement itself and the 400+ years of oppression black humans have experienced, it is ragged and honest and brutal and unrefined. This dialogue Chappelle presents is something of this moment and something the world needs. It finds itself less stand up special... Read More

Turn Your Mondays into Metallica Mondays

Metallica kicked off their Metallica Mondays series of free livestreams featuring pro-shot video from the band’s archives, last week. Up first was Metallica: Live at Slane Castle – June 8, 2019, filmed at the famed venue in Slane, Ireland last June. “While we’re all doing our part and staying home, we find ourselves missing live music, so how about we dive back into a few of our favorite shows at a socially responsible distance? Not to sound too cheesy, but now more than ever, we’re in this together, and staying connected is how we’ll get through it,” reads a note from the band announcing... Read More
