It is not debatable, when it comes to the Olympic styles of wrestling, Illinois is the absolute best. This makes the Illinois Freestyle State Tournament among the toughest in the Nation. Today 5 Rocks competed, and while Antonio Parker, Amare Overton (top 8 finish), Steven Marquez (top 6 finish), and Andrew Marquez (top 6 finish) all had long days and battled hard, Truth Vesey was the lone medalist, taking 3rd Place and earning a spot on the IL National Team and will be competing for them at Nationals in Fargo! Davenport West Senior Abbey Young Selected For All-State Art Team

The Davenport West High School Art Department would like to congratulate senior, Abbey Young, on being selected as 1 of only 9 students in the state of Iowa to make the All-State Art Team for the 4A level. Abbey submitted a portfolio of 10 works and an artist statement that was judged by 4 college professors and recognized as outstanding. The City of Bettendorf is excited to announce that General Constructors, Inc. (GCI) of Bettendorf has been chosen out of three bidders to construct a large component of The Landing – a state-of-the-art aquatic facility – at the corner of 23rd Street and Middle Road.
