The Davenport West High School Diamond Dancers achieved great success at the Iowa State Dance/Drill Team Association (ISDTA) State Dance Team Championships last Friday. The team received a Distinguished Academic Award (3.5-4.0 Team GPA), 7th place in Class IV Lyrical, 6th place in Class XIV Pom, and 4th place in Class III Kick. Junior Addison Aleksiejczyk also placed 2nd in Class X Solos, which is the highest soloist placing in school history! A Washington Jr. High student got to have her wish come true! Markelah Hicks suffers from diabetes and wanted to meet a princess so the staff at WJHS made it happen! The Accelerated Associates Degree Program is offered only at North High School. All dual credit courses are taught by a Davenport Schools teacher or EICC instructor.
