Dual Enrollment Application For Davenport North High School Coming Up Dec. 1

The dual enrollment application deadline is fast approaching (December 1, 2023). If you are interested, please submit your application as soon as possible. The Accelerated Associates Degree Program is offered only at North High School. All dual credit courses are taught by a Davenport Schools teacher or EICC instructor. There is no fee for books or tuition. Each year, students will select from an array of traditional high school and dual credit or AP courses that will lead them toward an Accelerated Associates Degree; a High School Diploma, and an Associate of Arts Degree. Davenport Teen Angela Chen A Semifinalist In National Merit Scholarship Program

Angela Chen, 12th-grade student at North High School, has been selected as a semifinalist in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship program. Students from around the nation are selected based on their PSAT scores. Semifinalists are the highest-scoring participants in each state. Out of the 1,300,000 students who took the PSAT in October 2022, Angela is one of the 16,000 semifinalists. This is a huge honor!    Read More

Davenport High School Students Build New Home As Part Of School Program

Davenport North and West students worked on the construction of this quality-built, Student Built Home in cooperation with the Davenport Community School District and the Quad City Area Realtors. The students were under the direction of Craig Peckenschneider, Student Built Home Teacher at North High School. Today, was the Student Built Home Celebration where the students gave tours of this newly-built home to the community. Davenport North hosted the 88th Annual Jesse Day Relays, April 13, 2023, at Brady St. Stadium! This relay event is named after Jesse Day, who was a Geometry and track coach for the Davenport Community School District. Virginia Wayne, daughter of Jesse Day, was recognized at the relay event because she was celebrating her 95th birthday. The pandemic has suppressed live theater performances and movie theaters alike, but it hasn’t brought down Leslie LaCorte’s spirits. LaCorte, a Language Arts/Theater instructor at North High School in Davenport, IA, is working to keep her students excited about acting by turning it into a virtual experience.
