The Central Mock Trial teams rocked the regional competition at St. Ambrose earlier this week!  The Blue team won the bid to the 2024 Iowa High School Mock Trial Tournament in Des Moines on March 28-30!  Congratulations to our hardworking students, many of whom were recognized as outstanding attorneys or witnesses. Davenport Central High School Girls Swim Team Places Third In Iowa

The Davenport Central High School girls swim team competed at the state meet! The weekend started with Mary Selden and the Davenport Central staff receiving awards for the regional swimmer and Coaching staff of the year. Congratulations to the team of Hannah Cousins, Isabel Heller, Simone Green, and Gabbie Hanson for being awarded state runner-ups with an All-American consideration time in the 200-yard medley relay. Altogether, the team placed third in the state and the Davenport Central Coaching Staff was named Iowa Coaching Staff of the Year. The Davenport Central Speech and Debate team did an outstanding job at their recent competition at Bettendorf. Both public forum debate teams ended up 3-2 and just missed the semifinals. Both teams beat prestigious teams from Iowa City West. In the speech competitions, Benie, Carter, and Reuben did fantastic work, with Reuben winning the Original Oratory category! Davenport Central Teens Head To Iowa State For FCCLA Competition

Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members represented Davenport Central yesterday at the Fall Rally held on the ISU campus. Olivia Mason made a plant-based, vegan-inspired grilled cheese sandwich while Alexis Downing created a Culinary Pathway poster to recruit DC students. Calee Jaques placed first in the FCS Photography category and Emma Gullickson placed third in the Shoes for a Cause Contest. Maya Gibson brought home first place in the Shoes for a Cause, as well, and placed second in the Deviled Egg Challenge. Congratulations!  Read More
