Rock the Arts will light up downtown Rock Island during a December art stroll happening at the Desoto building, The ARTery/MidCoast Gallery West and Quad City Arts. The three art sites will be open on Friday, December 7 during 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 8, from noon to 3 p.m. At Desoto, there will be demonstrations on woodworking by the Quad City Woodturners, outdoor raku firing with Joel Knanishu and intricate collage with Amber Williams. Beginning in Montreal, two trains will make a festive journey, travelling through both the U.S. and Canada to bring holiday cheer to 164 communities along the Canadian Pacific network. Thanks to generous fall grant support from the Regional Development Authority and The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation, as well as record-breaking proceeds from their 2018 Birdies for Charity campaign and Second Chance clothing sale in November, Dress for Success Quad Cities announces that they have surpassed the $1 Million milestone in total dollars raised to date.
