LeClaire Community Library Undergoing Renovations In February

The LeClaire Community Library will be recarpeted and painted in February 2024, with preparations underway now. This project will result in a unified color palette throughout the building, and better flow and flexibility in the library space. It was financed by the City of LeClaire, with assistance from the Friends of LeClaire Community Library. This project is also the recipient of a Hubbell-Waterman Foundation grant in the amount of $5000, to purchase new furniture for the Children’s Area. Wednesday was a day not only for national celebration, with the inauguration, but for the Quad Cities Cultural Trust. The organization gathered its six funded partners in person for the first time since the pandemic started, to mark exceeding its 2021 fundraising goal; record-breaking allocations in 2020 for the partners, and a new Quad City Arts mural that bursts with color and purpose on the west side of the River Music Experience building at 2nd and Main streets, Davenport. Hannah Holman, principal cellist with the Quad City Symphony, got an early Christmas present this month – the keys to the historic Deanery at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Davenport. She’s had a longtime dream to start a new music school, which she did online in September, and she is Executive Artistic Director of the Quad City Music Academy. Thanks to generous fall grant support from the Regional Development Authority and The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation, as well as record-breaking proceeds from their 2018 Birdies for Charity campaign and Second Chance clothing sale in November, Dress for Success Quad Cities announces that they have surpassed the $1 Million milestone in total dollars raised to date.
