Local Union 25 Raises Over $3,000 For Charity

Despite the intense rain, more than 200 golfers and volunteers showed up for the two-day Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 25 annual golf outing on September 20-21 at Indian Bluff Golf Course in Milan. “Even with the rain, we managed to have one of our biggest turnouts yet,” said Brett Swanson, Local 25 business agent. “This event has grown every year, and wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of more than 60 vendors, contractors and sister locals. Local Union 25 Boasts Best Plumbing Apprentice In National Competition

The Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 25 in Rock Island regularly encourages apprentices to “Be Your Best Self.” In the union, it’s more than a slogan — it’s a way of doing business. And one plumbing apprentice in particular is living up to the motto. Local Union 25 Takes Home Safety Excellence Awards

In celebration of National Safety Month, the ILLOWA Construction Labor and Management Council awarded 31 area contractors with safety excellence awards during a recent luncheon at the Milan Camden Community Center. Five of those contractors are signatory to the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 25. Since the late 1990s, ILLOWA has gathered statistics on the number of hours worked and the number of site incidents during the prior calendar year. Local Union 25 Driving Knox College’s Umbeck Science And Math Center Renovation

The magnificent, massive 55-foot skeleton of a rare Finn whale will be displayed in the atrium of the finished Umbeck Science and Mathematics Center in Galesburg’s Knox College, but in the midst of the complex’s construction, it’s the backbone of hard-working Local Union 25 craftsmen who are creating the building’s solid foundation.
