The Quad Cities Prayer Center (QCPC) is seeking volunteers in various capacities for its Christmas show. The QCPC has been planning a community Christmas outreach to the Quad Cities, called ONE VOICE.  It has invited several churches and ministries to partner with it, and so far there are 22 that have said yes and there will be some that will participate.  KWQC will be co-sponsoring this event with the QCPC. Teens can experience the art of anime, play video and board games with other teens, and explore various paths to take after high school with August events for ages 12 to 18 at the Rock Island Public Library. On Tuesday, August 16, the library hosts an anime night for teens from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the Rock Island Main Library location, 401 19th Street. The Speakeasy Laugh Hard Challenge is a stand-up comedy competition where comics from around the Midwest compete for the win. The first round of preliminaries was held Saturday, Aug. 6 at the Circa 21 Speakeasy, 1818 3rd Avenue in Rock Island. Hosted by James Draper, there were 14 comedians in the first round.
