New Freshmen and New Transfer Student Headcount Up at Western Illinois University

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Western Illinois University’s spring-to-spring new freshmen class has increased 18.18% from Spring 2022 to Spring 2023, and new transfer students have increased 18.75%, according to 10th-day data released by WIU’s Institutional Research and Planning. International student enrollment and graduate enrollment also increased, with total international undergraduate headcount at 191, compared to 120 in Spring 2022, and an increase of 59.17%. Davenport School Students Learn About Holocaust From Survivor In Interactive Program

On Tuesday, January 24, 2023 all 8th grade students at the Davenport Community School District participated in an hour-long once in a lifetime international virtual presentation with Holocaust survivor Sol Nayman from Canada. This educational experience was interactive, allowing students to submit questions prior to the presentation so that Sol could answer them. All 5 of our Junior High schools participated in this incredible experience as Sol Nayman entered their classrooms via Google Meet. Rock Island High School student Aline Niyogusenga has a full plate in her senior year. (APS) is now accepting applications for its $5,000 award for new college entrants pursuing education in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The Thomas K. Evans Memorial Scholarship is a merit- and need-based, one-time gift.
