The latest Quad City Arts’ Art at the Airport – on display through April 28 — presents aquatic paintings by Brian Buckles of Waterloo, Iowa, fiber tapestries by Rowen Schussheim-Anderson, Davenport, and coiled fiber baskets by Kelly Hanson of Moline. For Western Illinois University art professor Bruce Walters of Davenport, a 37-year career teaching in higher education has been accentuated by the personal artwork he’s created, in a wide variety of media. As he prepares to retire from teaching in May, an exhibit of part of his inspired work — titled “What the Hand Dare Seize the Fire?” — is on display at the University Art Gallery in Macomb through April 2. In the moving play, “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” audiences get inside the mind of a 15-year-old gifted autistic boy. Augustana College will present a recorded live performance of their production online at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday. First Jambrella on Feb. 26 Raised $7,000 for Quad-Cities Musicians and Bars in Need

The first massive Jambrella music festival – aimed to give back to local musicians and bars – was a massive success Feb. 26 at The Mound in the Village of East Davenport, raising $7,006. Artists who performed (from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.) included Molly Durnin, Far Out 283, Angela Meyer, Fair Warning, 3 On The Tree, The Channel Cats, Project X, and Michael Moncada and Whiskey High. Twenty-nine total musicians participated and six bars that host live music were picked to benefit from the fundraiser.
