Quad-Cities’ St. Patrick’s Day Grand Parade Postponed to Aug. 28, Other March St. Pat’s Events Are On

The St. Patrick Society of the Quad Cities has decided to postpone the planned 35th-annual Grand Parade from March 13 to Saturday, Aug. 28, after working with the state of Illinois and the cities of Rock Island and Davenport. They’re calling the rescheduled bi-state event Grand Parade XXXV.2. “Disappointing as it was to postpone the march on our traditional Saturday in March, we had to consider many factors in reaching our decision. The final Rock Island Artists’ Market of the 2019 season, the Fall Fling, is this Sunday, October 13, from 12-4 pm. This family-friendly market takes place in the parking lot of Skeleton Key Art and Antiques at 520 18th Street, Rock Island, and features a variety of art, local produce, handcrafted goods and more. Customers and sellers are encouraged to dress up in their favorite Halloween costume for the Fall Fling. The October installment of the Rock Island Artists’ Market is Sunday, October 14, 12-4 pm in the parking lot of Skeleton Key Art and Antiques at 520 18th Street, Rock Island. The Rock Island Artists’ Market has been held the second Sunday of each month, and October marks the final market of the 2018 season. The August installment of the Rock Island Artists’ Market is being held on Sunday, August 12 from 12-4 pm in the parking lot of Skeleton Key Art and Antiques at 520 18th Street, Rock Island, and will double as the 5th birthday celebration of Skeleton Key.
