Living Proof Seeks Entries for Annual Exhibit of Art by Cancer Survivors

Living Proof Exhibit, which provides the therapeutic benefits of the arts to people impacted by cancer, is seeking entries for its annual exhibition to be held from Aug. 16 to Sept. 30, 2021 in the Charles and Elizabeth Bisignano Art Gallery at the University of Dubuque. All cancer patients and survivors living within a 200-mile radius of the Quad-Cities are eligible to submit up to five works for consideration. Entries must be received by June 1, 2021. Living Proof Starts New Creative Sessions, Hires Program Manager

Living Proof Exhibit – which provides hope, support, and healing through the arts to Quad Citizens touched by cancer – is growing with new programs and a new program manager. Each month, LPE offers free Creative Sessions where participants use various art forms to heal and find hope. Juan Carlos Mendoza has sung in some pretty prestigious places – including New York City’s Juilliard School, and the Lyric Opera and Grant Park Music Festival in Chicago. But recording two recent recitals at the Muscatine Art Center may be among the most meaningful so far in the young tenor’s career. Over 200 Painted Birdhouses Take Flight at Davenport's Figge Art Exhibit

Over 200 decorated birdhouses will be on display at the Figge Art Museum, Davenport, from Oct. 2 to 11, along with the Living Proof art exhibit. “They are up a short time because we want to get them out to bring hope and joy to Quad Citizens touched by cancer,” Pamela Crouch, executive director of Living Proof Exhibit (LPE), said Thursday.
