The WIU and Macomb communities are invited to attend a special ceremony that will unveil a gift by the late Arlington and Arlene Seymour, marking the future expansion of the Great River Teacher Corps (GRTC). “Gifts like the Seymours’ make the difference at Western Illinois University,” WIU Vice President for Advancement, Alumni Relations and Athletics Clare Thompson said. Western Illinois University Building Service Worker Charles Eddington has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for October 2022. Eddington was hired in his current position in August 1998. He is currently working in Malpass Library. Davenport Teen Angela Chen A Semifinalist In National Merit Scholarship Program

Angela Chen, 12th-grade student at North High School, has been selected as a semifinalist in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship program. Students from around the nation are selected based on their PSAT scores. Semifinalists are the highest-scoring participants in each state.
