Congratulations to the Rock Island Debate team for their outstanding performance at Saturday’s tournament. Competing against the top programs in the state, the Rocks took home three team trophies and three additional individual medals. Leading the way for the Rocks was the team of Olivia Seidlitz and Haleigh Laud who finished the day with a perfect 4-0 record while taking home first-place honors in the JV/sophomore division of Public Forum. AARP Tax Aide volunteers bring free assistance to LeClaire Library

The AARP Tax Aide program’s trained volunteers are back in LeClaire this February and March to provide free tax assistance to anyone in the community regardless of age, income, or AARP membership. The volunteers can help with most tax returns including federal and Iowa/Illinois state taxes, though some restrictions do apply. Appointments will take place on Thursdays starting February 1 st and ending on April 4 th .
