Partners of Scott County Watersheds will be hosting its Summer Snapshot volunteer water quality monitoring event on Saturday, July 18 from 8:00am to 12:00pm at the Davenport Public Works building (1200 E 46th St., Davenport, IA). The Snapshot volunteer water quality monitoring events have been taking place since 2003.  Three times a year, groups of volunteers will test around 60 sites in Scott County for nitrogen, phosphorus, chloride, pH, temperature, and turbidity, and macroinvertebrates, among other parameters.  For the summer Snapshot, we will also be taking a survey of insects and other... Read More

Event organizers from Downtown Davenport Partnership (DDP) on Wednesday announced the cancellation of Alternating Currents, originally scheduled for August 27-30, as a regional event across five Quad-Cities downtown areas. The highly anticipated “Clash of Legends” is officially upon us! Quad Cities’ fighting legends, Michael Nunn and Pat Miletich, were originally scheduled to fight on Apr 18 at the TaxSlayer Center. However, due to Covid-related issues, the battle was rescheduled to this Saturday Jul 18 at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds (2815 W Locust St. Davenport). A little more than two weeks after the Mississippi Valley Fair announced it would scale back its offerings this year, including no big-name grandstand acts, on Tuesday it said it would cancel the 101-year-old tradition altogether. The fair, at 2815 W.
