Wild Ones Quad Cities announces it has become one of the newest chapters in a rapidly growing national Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes, an organization that encourages people to incorporate native plants into their landscapes. The chapter will host prairie and garden tours, plant sales, seed swaps, and educational opportunities. Western Illinois University Facilities Management Office Manager Sheila Paul has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for April 2022. Paul began working at WIU in June 2014, as a chief clerk in the University Bookstore. Between 2016-2017, she served as a chief clerk in the WIU Department of Kinesiology, the University Bookstore and the WIU Development Office. MACOMB/MOLINE, IL — Katrina Daytner, associate dean of the Western Illinois University College of Education and Human Services (COEHS), been appointed interim dean of the college, effective June 1. COEHS Dean Francis Godwyll, who has served as dean since July 2020, has been named the education dean at Illinois State University. The Rotaract Club at Western Illinois University will co-sponsor a bowling competition, “Bowlio for Polio” from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April. 24 at Diggers College Bowl in Macomb to raise money and awareness for polio eradication efforts. Polio is a life-threatening disease that has largely been eradicated through vaccination. Vaccinations since the 1950’s have led to the eradication of some strains of polio, but the disease still exists in some areas.
