Jason Aldean Playing Mississippi Valley Fair Tonight!

Jason Aldean is the grandstand performer at 8 p.m. tonight at the Mississippi Valley Fair, 2815 W. Locust St., Davenport! For tickets, CLICK HERE! After almost 15 years at the top of his format, three-time ACM “Entertainer of the Year” Aldean has seen trends come and go. He’s helped bring a few out of the shadows, like a Country-music Columbus making the mainstream’s first contact with hard rock (“Hicktown”), hip-hop (“Dirt Road Anthem”) and R&B (“Burnin’ It Down”). But after all that time, he continues to hold his ground making modern albums with an old-school soul—most... Read More

REVIEW: Thrilling, Energetic “Newsies” at Countryside Worthy of a Pulitzer in Performance

It’s hard to go wrong with “Disney’s Newsies: The Musical.” But that doesn’t mean at all that it’s easy to get right. The glorious, massive show – given an expert, exhilarating production by Countryside Community Theatre – is a classic “underdog vs. topdog” battle. In the pre-broadcasting days, circa 1899, newspapers were THE king of communication... Read More

The moratorium that was scheduled to expire on June 30, 2021 was extended through July 31, 2021 — yesterday. That was intended to be the final extension and another has not been reached. “The COVID-19 pandemic has presented a historic threat to the nation’s public health.
