Time for Art returns with virtual presentation on great American artists

The Bettendorf Public Library and Butterworth Center & Deere-Wiman House have teamed up to give the community another installment of  Time for Art. On Saturday, March 13th, Carol Ehlers will give a virtual art talk at 3:00 PM via GoToMeeting. Bettendorf Public Library and Black Hawk College team up to present resume building workshop

The Bettendorf Public Library and Black Hawk College are once again collaborating to support area job seekers. On Thursday, February 18th at 6:00 PM, Angela Striegel, the Coordinator of Career Planning and Placement at Black Hawk College, will share information and tips to help participants create or update a resume to share with employers. In recognition and celebration of Black History Month, the Bettendorf Public Library has partnered with Fourth Wall Films to present a virtual, live screening of Becoming Harriet Beecher Stowe on Thursday, February 18th at 2:00 PM. Through Sunday, January 24, the Bettendorf Public Library is hosting exclusive access to Community Connections: Betty Crocker – Her Cookbook That Changed How America Cooks. The presentation will feature Leslie Goddard, Ph.D. as she highlights the history of Betty Crocker and her famous Picture Cook Book. Get Answers to Questions About Legalization of Recreational Cannabis in Illinois

In a major change to Illinois law, recreational-use cannabis will be legalized in 2020. To help answer questions about impacts and issues of this new law, the Rock Island Public Library and City of Rock Island Community and Economic Development department will host a panel discussion November 12.
