Scott County Iowa Genealogical Society and the Richardson-Sloane Special Collections Center of the Davenport Public Library invites you to their monthly meeting. On Monday, August 2nd at 6:30 pm the Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center will present the resources the Swenson Center has, a beginner’s how-to for Swedish genealogy, and suggestions and tips on how to work with those materials. The FRIENDS of the Davenport Public Library Announce Buy One Get One Free Sale

The FRIENDS of the Davenport Public Library Bookstore at the Eastern Ave. Library (6000 Eastern Ave.) will be holding a buy one get one free sale on Saturday, July 24th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Plus, all items at the Eastern Ave. Bookstore will be 50 cents and under that day only, with special items for sale including over 500 comic books at $1.00 each, or 20 for $10 and many beautiful book sets. Teens (11-19) are invited to join Miss Amber on Tuesdays beginning June 22nd at 2:00 pm in the Fairmount Street Library’s Garden for a new teen audiobook club! This summer we will be listening together to one of 2020’s best-selling and award-winning books, Stamped: Racism, Anti-Racism and You written by Jason Reynolds & Ibram X. Kendi and read by Jason Reynolds. As a group, we will listen to portions of the audiobook and work on quiet projects in the garden including gardening, crafting, and meditating. Kick off Summer Reading 2021: Reading Colors Your World by helping us color our world outside the library! We’ll bring the chalk; you bring the creativity!
