On Thursday, March 30th at 6:30pm at | Fairmount, Robin C. Abbott will present a program based on her book, “Sound Advice: How to Help Your Child with SPD, Autism and ADHD from the Inside Out”. In this program, personal stories of a pediatric occupational therapist are integrated with current science on why some children struggle to learn and adapt. Davenport Library Winter Wellness Event Is Free and Open to The Public!  

On Monday, December 5th from 9am – 12pm at | Main, The Library will be partnering with Amerigroup, St. Anthony’s Parish, Community Health Care, Inc., Iowa Total Care and Scott County Health Department to host a Free Winter Wellness Event. Healthcare Visits, Flu Shots, COVID shots and boosters, confidential HIV/HCV testing, gift cards, winter coats and blankets, hygiene items and 75 laundry vouchers valued at $10 each (sponsored by Amerigroup) will be provided free of charge to attendees of the event. The Davenport Public Library will be hosting two English/Spanish Bilingual Storytimes in August on Monday, August 1st |Fairmount at 10am and Tuesday, August 16th |Fairmount at 6pm. Join us for bilingual English/Spanish storytimes this summer, co-hosted by leaders in the QC Latinx community! The Davenport Public Library will be providing a tree identification program on Tuesday, July 26th |Fairmount at 2pm. A walk through any neighborhood or park in the Quad Cities offers a view of a multitude of different trees, some of them quite spectacular. All trees have special features and learning how to notice and appreciate those features is the key to tree identification. When living under the same roof with someone who is dependent on alcohol or other drugs, children of addiction and other family members may adopt coping strategies that can create lasting negative effects.
