The City of Davenport and Davenport Public Library recognize the importance of investing in the success and well-being of our residents. As a result, Quinn O’Brian was hired and currently serves as the Library Social Worker, providing assistance in navigating the complex system of support available in the community. Since beginning her role, O’Brian has helped 934 individuals with issues including housing instability, homelessness, unemployment, food insecurity, and legal issues, and has fostered 44 partnerships with community organizations that add value and resources to those seeking assistance.... Read More

On Friday, January 6th from 9am – 5:30pm at | Fairmount, and on Saturday, January 14th from 9am – 5:30pm at | Eastern The Library will be accepting donations of clean and gently used formal wear to help support our Formal Wear Giveaway program in January! We are accepting donations of clean and gently used dresses, suits, blazers, dress pants, ties, bowties, and formal purses, BUT NO shoes or jewelry at this time. The Davenport Public Library | Main has officially opened their new makerspace, Studio 321 to the public! On Wednesday, December 7th at 5:30pm at | Eastern, Dr. Burl Randolph, Jr., a local author, entrepreneur, and retired combat veteran will present “Hard Work: The Mind of an Author”. Dr. Burl will speak on the topics of being a writer and author, the differences between the two, and determining if hard work is a factor for success for either one. On Monday, December 5th from 9am – 12pm at | Main, The Library will be partnering with Amerigroup, St. Anthony’s Parish, Community Health Care, Inc., Iowa Total Care and Scott County Health Department to host a Free Winter Wellness Event. Healthcare Visits, Flu Shots, COVID shots and boosters, confidential HIV/HCV testing, gift cards, winter coats and blankets, hygiene items and 75 laundry vouchers valued at $10 each (sponsored by Amerigroup) will be provided free of charge to attendees of the event.
