Chicago is coming to the TaxSlayer Center in Moline on April 19! Hailed as one of the “most important bands in music since the dawn of the rock and roll era,” by former President Bill Clinton, the legendary rock and roll band with horns, Chicago, came in as the highest charting American band in Billboard Magazine’s Top 125 Artists Of All Time. Chicago is the first American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in six consecutive decades with 2021 marking the band’s 54th consecutive year of touring. Playcrafters Barn Theatre is excited to welcome the incredibly funny AND incredibly talented G.I.T. Improv troupe to their stage on April 23rd at 7 PM as they will be helping the community theatre raise money for their “Raise the Roof” campaign! Playcrafters’ roof began failing seriously while we shut down in 2020. It needs to be replaced, and as you can imagine, replacing a gambrel roof of this size is a very expensive project. Ballet Quad Cities is unspooling a classic Lewis Carroll tale in dance, with “Alice in Wonderland” presented today, Saturday, April 9 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Adler, 136 E. 3rd St., Davenport. One of the more entertaining features that pops up on my Yahoo home page is the Soap Opera Update. It’s a recap of the previous week’s soaps. It’s pretty funny in a goofy way, catching up on the amazing, Dickensian plotlines being brought to life by over-actors on a daily basis.
