Comedy Sportz Takes A Final Bow Next Weekend

The longest-running show in the Quad Cities takes a final bow in November as the entity known as ComedySportz will be formally converting into G.I.T. Comedy Sportz is about to pull off their last “yes, and…” After 30 years, the improvisational troupe will no longer play under the Comedy Sportz banner, instead changing their name to the G.I.T. Improv Band starting in December. Comedy Sportz Quad-Cities, one of 29 groups nationwide, debuted March 20, 1990 in the Speakeasy next to Circa ’21. Get Shakespeared At Rock Island Library

Just in time for Shakespeare’s upcoming birthday, the great Bard of Avon gets the improv treatment at the Rock Island Public Library on Wednesday, April 20. Shakespeared, which consists of Shakespearean improvisational comedy from Guys in Ties of Comedy Sportz, Rock Island, will be presented at 6:00 pm in the Rock Island Main Library Community Room, 401 19th Street.
