Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos has entered into a war of words with Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling him the “Kremlin Gremlin” and ripping him up after Bustos was sanctioned by the Russian Government this week. Western Illinois University’s Inter-Hall Council will host its annual tree planting ceremony to honor students who have passed away during over the past academic year. A tree is planted and dedicated in honor of the students who have been lost. In addition to the students’ families, IHC is extending an invitation to students, faculty and staff to honor their loved ones. Illinois' Blue Cat Brew Pub Wins National Beer Award

Blue Cat Brew Pub in The District of Rock Island reopened in November of 2021 after a hiatus and name change. The brewery is already making a comeback in a big way, taking home multiple awards at the 2022 New York International Beer Competition. The 11th annual NYIBC received over 700 submissions from over 15 countries and were judged by trade buyers. Beers were awarded medals based on how likely judges were to buy, distribute, or import the product.
