Moline Human Rights Commission Seeks Input From Community

The Moline Human Rights Commission is seeking input from residents in an effort to identify – and ultimately address – issues of inequality, discrimination or other challenges to inclusivity and rights that may be outstanding in the community. The seven-member committee, appointed by Mayor Sangeetha Rayapati in the fall of 2021, has created a Moline Human Rights Community Questionnaire that is available on the city’s website and social media platforms. Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) released the following statement on President Joe Biden’s emergency action to allow summer sales of E15 to help reduce gas prices. Illinois' Rock Island Arsenal to dedicate Health Clinic to heroic WWII medic

U.S. Army officials will formally dedicate the U.S. Army Health Clinic at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois, on Thursday, April 14 at 10 a.m. The clinic will be known as the Woodson Health Clinic, in honor of a World War II medic who served with First Army and saved countless lives during the Allied Invasion of Normandy.  Staff Sgt. Waverly B. Fourth generation owner Steve Blondell has retired after 41 years and decided to close Illinois’ Blondell Plumbing after 120 years in the community. Although Steve has run the company for two decades, the history of Blondell Plumbing goes back four generations to 1902. It was originally founded as Swanson Plumbing by Victor Swanson, Steve’s great-grandfather. Victor’s daughter, Marion, purchased the business from her father in 1941, changing the name to Blondell Plumbing.
