One in five Iowans has been negatively affected by a friend or family member’s gambling. Join prevention staff from the Center for Alcohol & Drug Services, Inc. on March 24th at 1:00 pm on Zoom to learn about the hidden addiction of gambling. For many, gambling is a form of entertainment but for others, gambling can lead to debt, bankruptcy, and failed relationships. We will discuss why being aware of problem gambling behaviors is important, how to identify signs of problem gambling, how to access help, and how to gamble responsibly. Genesis Health Group will help speed up COVID-19 protection with a mass vaccination clinic to open Tuesday, March 23 for Genesis patients at the former Dick’s Sporting Goods location at 5250 Elmore Ave., Davenport. Vaccinations will be available by appointment only to eligible Genesis patients who reside in Scott County. Eligible populations are defined and guided by the Iowa State Health Department and can be found on their website. The Shenanigans have long been over, but some new shenanigans — at a second Daiquiri Factory — are about to begin. The Daiquiri Factory, long a mainstay among popular downtown Rock Island nightclubs, will be opening up a second spot in the old Shenanigan’s Pub building, 303 W. 3rd St., Davenport.
