For the first time ever, the Davenport Community School District will have a sanctioned, girls’ wrestling team. Josh Park has been named the head coach and will oversee wrestlers from Davenport North, Central and West High Schools. “I’m every emotion you can think of,” Park said. “We’re making our mark.” Park is no stranger to the mat. The Davenport Community School District is hosting an inclusion Night Gala Wednesday, May 11, 2022. John Kliegl, CEO of Special Olympics Iowa, will be there to celebrate the partnership between Special Olympics and Davenport Schools and acknowledge all the wonderful things Davenport’s Unified Champion Schools have done this year. Courtney Olsen has been hired as the Director of Equity and Learning Supports for the Davenport Community School District. Ms. Olsen holds an Education Specialist degree in School Psychology and holds the Director of Special Education endorsement. Davenport Schools Students Can Eat for Free in Coming School Year

All Davenport Community School District (DCSD) students will get free breakfast and lunch during the 2021-2022 school year, as part of the Seamless Summer Option funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) that will allow all students to eat for free every day, regardless of income. Students and their families who would like to qualify for the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) or other income-based benefits must still apply through the school district on the Free and Reduced Meal Application to be eligible for the funding. United Way Quad Cities Gives Out Over $109K for Covid Rebuilding

A year into the pandemic, United Way Quad Cities has awarded $109,528 to 11 local nonprofits helping to meet residents’ emerging and evolving needs related to their education, income and health.
