Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds’ STEM Advisory Council announced Davenport Community School District as one of the 37 school districts joining the STEM BEST® (Businesses Engaging Students and Teachers) + HD (High Demand) Program. Davenport School Students Learn About Holocaust From Survivor In Interactive Program

On Tuesday, January 24, 2023 all 8th grade students at the Davenport Community School District participated in an hour-long once in a lifetime international virtual presentation with Holocaust survivor Sol Nayman from Canada. This educational experience was interactive, allowing students to submit questions prior to the presentation so that Sol could answer them. All 5 of our Junior High schools participated in this incredible experience as Sol Nayman entered their classrooms via Google Meet. Congratulations to the students and directors selected to the 2023 South East Iowa Band Association (SEIBA) Honor Band! The Festival is sponsored by the South East Iowa Band Association and is a one-day event, held at the University of Iowa School of Music. Iowa Public Innovations and Efficiencies Awards Given to Davenport School District

State Auditor Rob Sand will hand-deliver a pie to the leaders of the Davenport Community School District in recognition of their Public Innovations and Efficiencies (PIE) Award. Davenport CSD is the largest school to receive the 2022 PIE Award. Sand created the PIE program in 2019. It serves to encourage governmental entities to implement cost-cutting measures and spark innovative ideas to save public funds. In the last year, PIE participation increased by more than 55%.
