Mid America Premier youth soccer dissolved over the summer but it ended its run on top. GotSoccer, the international site which ranks teams from around the world, ranked Mid America Premier’s undefeated U10 team as number one in Illinois for the 2017-18 season, ahead of its rivals in Peoria and Chicago and the vaunted Scott Gallagher teams from St. Louis and southern Illinois. Another UFO Over The Quad-Cities?

Is ET shopping at HyVee? A third UFO sighting in as many weeks flew onto local radar over the weekend, this time over central Rock Island. Previous sightings have occurred in east Davenport near Bettendorf and in downtown Rock Island and Davenport, during a sighting of possibly two UFOs floating high over the Mississippi River from the Iowa side into the Illinois side and into central Rock Island. The Blue Cat is becoming the Big Swing. The Rock Island Blue Cat Brew Pub, 113 18th St., will close Aug. 31, remain shut for renovations and open later this fall as The Big Swing Brewing Company, sources close to the situation said. It was reported first here on QuadCities.com that Blue Cat, one of the first brew pubs opened in the Quad-Cities in 1994 by brewer and chef Dan Cleveland and his sister, Martha Cleveland, was sold by the duo to an unnamed local buyer last week for an undisclosed sales price.
