After the success of last year’s event, Alternating Currents is returning to Downtown Davenport!

Alternating Currents Festival has expanded from two days to five days and will be happening this Thursday Aug 23 through Sunday Aug 26.

Venues downtown Davenport will be hosting an impressive amount of live music, film screenings, comedians and visual artists. A dozen venues will offer free programming all weekend, both indoors and outdoors like OMG Becky Fest, Quad-City Arts Chalk Art Festival, Bucktown’s Final Friday and MUCH MORE!Alternating Currents Rolling into Quad Cities

The festival will kick off on Thursday night at the Figge Art Museum (225 W 2nd St. Davenport) at 5:30 p.m. with Urban Exposure 2018 Film Premiere. Join Azubuike African American Council for the Arts & Urban Exposure Independent Film Project for the Premiere Screening of the Summer 2018 films. The event includes light hors d’oeuvres, a ‘Meet the Filmmakers’ reception, four short films, and a Q&A with our first-time filmmakers, instructors, and additional program participants.

Dr. Dog will headline Alternating Currents on Saturday Aug 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Adler Theatre (136 E 3rd St. Davenport). Special guests include Joe Marcinek All Star Super Jam featuring Alan Evans (Soulive) Steve Molitz (Particle) and Freekbass followed by The David Mayfield Parade.
