June 16th is the last day to register for Competitive Tryouts for East Moline Silvis Soccer Club! Tryouts will be a little different this year due to the Covid-19 restrictions put in place by the state. Tryouts this year will be an “intent to play” rather than a physical tryout.  Physical tryouts will not happen this year. East Moline Silvis Soccer Club (EMSSC) is hosting a Rock n Roll Bingo Night on Friday, March 6th at the East End Bolders Club in Moline.  Doors open at 6 pm and Bingo starts at 7pm. The cost is $10 for your first bag of chips (or Bingo card) and $5 for each additional bag (card).  A cash bar is available for all beverages; you are welcome to bring in your own snacks.  For the second year in a row, we will be selling slices of Happy Joe pizza for $3 each on a first-come, first-serve basis. Fifth Annual Midwest Elite Dragons Soccer Camp Kicking Off In March!

Got a player interested in learning about soccer, or keeping his or her skills sharp over the winter? The fifth annual Midwest Elite Dragons Soccer CAMP is coming up and the deadline to register is March 10! The CAMP, for boys and girls born in years 2007, 2008 and 2009, will teach kids soccer fundamentals, attack and defensive formations, team play and game theory. Nine EMSSC Players Make Illinois Olympic Development Program Soccer Teams

EMSSC Spartans Ranked #9 In Illinois!

The latest Illinois Youth Soccer rankings just came out today, and the EMSSC Spartans U12 team has leapt into the top ten, at the number 9 ranking! The team is 16-3 and has only lost to teams ranked in the top three from Illinois and Missouri. Last weekend, they finished second at the Peoria Oktoberfest after a thrilling 4-3 loss to Peoria, which was ranked #1 last year and is in the top three this year, but the road to the championship game included wins against three teams ranked in the top 15 and two in the top 10. Very few teams from the Quad-Cities area have ever competed in the USA Cup, let alone won a trophy there. The annual tournament in Blaine, Minn. features teams from around the world and is only open to the top-ranked squads from states across the country. EMSSC Spartans Raise Almost $1,000!

Thanks to the generosity of managers Jerad Welter of HyVee Moline on 7th Street and John Deere Road, and Alex McGehee of Anchor Lumber in East Moline, the EMSSC Spartans 08 team, ranked #15 in Illinois, was able to raise almost $1,000 in a bake sale at both spots last weekend. The money raised will help pay for tournament costs and uniform costs for the team!
