Dawn and On Music Festival Returns to Schwiebert Park July 10th

The 2021 Dawn and On fest will be noon to midnight on Saturday, July 10. Tickets are $20.

Mike Mathews and Sean Ryan are pumped for this year’s Dawn and On Music Festival – firstly for the simple fact that it’s back on. In a new partnership, the Quad City Symphony Orchestra is bringing an “Instrument Petting Zoo” to Mercado on Fifth in downtown Moline, starting Friday, July 2 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. “The QCSO has been really doubling down on our private lesson effort and group lesson effort,” Marc Zyla, the orchestra’s director of education & community engagement, personnel manager and principal horn player, said Wednesday. On exhibit through August 13, will be “Bridging the Divide,” paintings by John Born and “Internal Landscapes,” paintings by Laura Vincent- Arnold. The public is invited to attend the opening reception on June 25 from 7-9 pm where the artists will be present and refreshments will be served. John Born, of Bettendorf, presents a series of paintings called “Bridging the Divide,” completed throughout the construction of the new I-74 bridge. A Covid-inspired success from 2020 will return on Tuesday, Aug. 10, as Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse will be back on its marquee for an outdoor show, at 1828 3rd Ave., Rock Island. The annual bi-state Red, White and Boom event in downtown Davenport and Rock Island returns on July 3, 2021. Activities start at 5 p.m. in Rock Island, 6 p.m. in Davenport and at 9:30 p.m., fireworks will be shot, in sync to music broadcast on 97X, from two barges in the middle of the Mississippi River.
