The operating hours of the book shop run by the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library have been increased by adding Wednesday hours 12:00-4:00.  The book shop, located in the previous coffee shop area, will be open Monday through Wednesday 12:00-4:00 and Saturday 11:00-3:00 beginning September 7.  Several thousand books are on sale, most for $1 each, with pocket books, chapter books and teen books for $0.50 and children’s books for $0.25.  Stock is regularly rotated with no books on display more than two months.  All proceeds from the shop are used to support library programs. Brett Gravelle was signed to the Storm’s training camp roster before the cancellation of the 2020-2021 season and will now make his Storm debut at training camp in October. Gravelle, 25, spent his first pro season last year with FPHL Elmira and recorded 13 goals and 10 assists in 20 games.  Before turning pro, Gravelle was a point per game player at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota where he was named assistant captain his junior year and Captain of the team his senior year.  Read More

The Quad City Storm has re-signed its leading scorer from the 2019-2020 season. Taylor Pryce will return to the TaxSlayer Center for his fifth season of professional hockey after extended stints last year with the SPHL’s Birmingham Bulls, Pensacola Ice Flyers and a brief stay at the end of the season with the Huntsville Havoc. During the Storm’s 2019-2020 season Pryce was acquired from the Fayetteville Marksmen and used his speed and skill to record 15 goals and 16 assists in 42 games.  Read More
