The 23rd annual Frieze Lecture Series for the Rock Island Public Library takes a deeper look at our reaction to global crises, past and present, in a two-part series presented by Augustana College professors with expertise in history and public health. Free and open to the public, the 2020 Frieze Lectures are offered online at 2:00 pm on two Tuesdays in October 20 and 27. Bettendorf Public Library Presenting Presidential Event

The Bettendorf Public Library is offering tickets to a time-traveling presidential event. From October 19th through October 25th, the Library will offer admission to a virtual edition of Community Connections: The Political Lincoln: Honest Abe on Campaigns & Elections. Bettendorf Public Library Hosting Virtual Photography Workshop For Teens

Teens looking to flex their photography skills and learn advanced photo techniques will want to check out the Bettendorf Public Library’s new virtual offering. Starting on October 6th at 6:00 PM, the Library will host a photography workshop through GoToMeeting designed specifically for teens. The workshop will cover the basics of photography the first week progressing with more advance techniques over the course of four weeks. New Library2Go Mobile Library Schedule Rolls Until October 30

Library2Go, the Rock Island Public Library’s traveling outreach vehicle, is now running on a weekly schedule. The new schedule is in effect through October 30. From Monday through Thursday, routes run from 10 am to 11:30 am, in the afternoon from 2:30 to 3:30 pm, and in the early evening, from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. The Rock Island Public Library Children’s Department continues to ZOOM into entertaining learning online and at home with new and returning events this September. On Wednesday, September 9, the library offers a Virtual Superhero Party from 10:30 am to 11:15 am via its ZOOM meeting software.
