MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Applications for Western Illinois University DREAMers (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) Scholarships, to be awarded for the 2022-2023 academic year, are now open. The WIU scholarship, which was created by WIU Political Science Professor Julia Albarracin-Green, awarded the first DREAMer scholarships to four students in Fall 2021. The Office of Human Resources at Western Illinois University has made some changes to improve efficiencies and to better serve the WIU community. Human Resources are now located in Sherman Hall 105 and Sherman Hall 103 (former transfer admissions office), with testing now located in Sherman 103 (from the basement area). In addition, Human Resources is moving to a talent acquisition and talent development model of operations. Pritzker’s Executive Order, which was recently extended and outlines testing requirements for unvaccinated employees and students who are physically on WIU’s campuses. Due to continued negotiations between the State of Illinois and the SHIELD Illinois testing program, WIU will change its testing methods until further notice.
