MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Western Illinois University will host the annual Employee Memorial Tree Planting Ceremony at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Memorial Tree Grove on the Macomb campus. Each year WIU honors employees who passed away the year prior in a memorial planting ceremony. This year, the ceremony will honor Yvonne Zaborac, who passed away in 2022. Davenport North hosted the 88th Annual Jesse Day Relays, April 13, 2023, at Brady St. Stadium! This relay event is named after Jesse Day, who was a Geometry and track coach for the Davenport Community School District. Virginia Wayne, daughter of Jesse Day, was recognized at the relay event because she was celebrating her 95th birthday.
