Navy Concert Marches Into Rock Island

Looking for a relaxing and patriotic way to spend your Sunday afternoon? Then you are in luck! On Sunday, April 2 the United State Navy Concert Band is coming to Rock Island! The concert will be held at Augustana College’s Centennial Hall, located at 3703 7th Avenue Rock Island. The show will run from 2-4pm. This is a FREE event! However, tickets are required to avoid overfilling the auditorium. There is a limit of six tickets per request. Easter is just around the corner and it’s time to kick off the Easter Egg Hunts! Dahl Ford in Davenport will be hosting their 5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Food Drive on Sunday, April 2. The hunt will take place in the parking lot of Dahl Ford, located at 1310 E Kimberly Rd Davenport. Admission is a non-perishable food item to be donated to Hope Church Food Pantry in LeClaire, IA. Gates open at 10am, and the Easter Egg Hunts will start at 11am. There are four waves of hunts specifically designed for the age groups they represent. On Saturday April 1 at the iWireless Center in Moline, the Quad City Fire Hockey and Chicago Fire Hockey teams, alongside the Quad City Mallards, will be holding their 9th annual benefit game to raise funds and awareness for the QC MS Open Swinging Fore A Cure. Jackson Leary is certainly celebrating his ninth birthday in a unique way. The third grader is having his first solo art exhibit as the latest Taste of Q-C Art at Taste Buds, 1629 2nd Ave., Rock Island (in the District, across from Bennigans). Jackson is the son of QuadCities.com digital media director Sean Leary and the co-host of Eventures with Sean and Jackson, a podcast on QuadCities.com. He’s had his art exhibited at Rozz Tox and local school art exhibits but this is his first solo show.
