In yet another example of innovative Quad-Cities artists getting creative due to Covid, St. Ambrose University will present a unique filmed theater project tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Galvin Fine Arts Center, 518 W. Locust St., Davenport. Previously released online in three individual episodes, Romeo and Juliet – A Web Series in Shadow will be screened in its entirety for the first time at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, at Galvin on the SAU campus. Massive Midwest Pickleball Tourney Pops Into Quad-Cities This Weekend!

Riverside Park is set to host a major Midwest pickleball tournament this weekend, bringing in more than 200 players from several neighboring states and beyond. The Quad Cities Classic will kick off under the lights at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17 with mens singles matches. Mens and women’s doubles will continue Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and the tournament will wrap up Sunday.  This is the third year for the tournament, which was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. BREAKING NEWS: Southern Illinois regions have run out of available ICU beds, a dangerous metric that could trigger new, harsher covid-19 mandates from Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker. Southern Illinois reported Monday that it had no available ICU beds in an area of almost a half-million people, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. On Wednesday September 15from 5:00 till 7:00PM there will be an open house for the Youth Shooting Sports Association at “King Plaza” 3654 Avenue of the Cities, Moline IL 61265 YSSA was formed in early 2013.  Applied and received a 501c3 non-profit, tax exempt charitable organization status.  YSSA offers an array shooting sports programs including:  Shotgun, Archery, Small-Bore and AIR Pistol, Rifle, and Outdoor Skills, to youth of the greater Quad Cities area. Quad City Storm Sign Joe Widmar To Training Camp Contract

The Quad City Storm has signed forward Joe Widmar to a training camp contract. Widmar is a native of Northbrook, Illinois and played in six games with the Storm in the 2019-2020 season before departing to play in the French Professional League. During the cancelled 20-21 season Widmar rostered with Cracovia Krakow in the Polish elite league where he scored 11 points in 26 games.  Read More
